Santa Claus Day 2010

Protection had their annual Santa Claus Day and they made it an "old fashion" Santa Claus Day.  They had the games just like they used to when Joe was little.  Wagon races, 3 legged races, gunny sack races, egg toss, chicken races (we didn't make it in for that), etc.  It was a cold day and both girls were recovering from the quick bout of stomach flu ( that is a whole other post, that involves Ellie and I missing Ben's college graduation!).  But the few hours that we were out playing games on Main Street, the weather was beautiful!!!

The girls rode in the wagon to the games and then Joe pulled them in the wagon races

Our buddies Tara (with Cooper) and Suzie (with Eli) doing the 3-legged races

Joe and Molly before they WON the race!!!

Ellie and Cooper hanging out

Oh goodness...Look at all of our little daycare friends!

Molly doing the egg toss.  I was hoping it wouldn't smash all over her and we were lucky!

Santa came to town and handed out bags of goodies.  The bags have an apple, peanuts in the shell, peanut brittle, peanut clusters and orange slices (just like when Joe was little).

Hanging out by "Grandma's Bank" with their candy.  Look tired huh?  We were waiting for Santa to make his way to the Library so we could go talk to him!

This is the 1st year Molly has ever gotten close to Santa let alone sat on his lap and this was the 1st year ever that Ellie has met Santa and didn't like it...at ALL!  Maybe next year. Molly told Santa she wanted a new Barbie and a new puzzle.  Santa told her to make sure the fireplace wasn't lit Christmas Eve and to leave some cookies and milk, 2% because he is on a diet!  Lol

I didn't plan on being in the Santa picture, but Ellie wasn't having Santa!  She said she wanted a Chocolate Kiss for Christmas!  She likes Hershey Kisses a little too much

After Santa, the firemen put on a soup supper at the City Building.  We had chili and vegetable beef and homemade pie.  What a wonderful time we had!  Definitely got us into the Christmas spirit!
