Friday Night Farming

Friday night we were going to have a quiet family night, cook fajitas and play outside with the girls.  We have had so much going on it sounded like a nice idea to just hang out on the back deck.  Joe ended up cutting soybeans, so the girls ended up with a quick dinner of fishsticks.  We went out back to play with Daisy and Ellie could see the tractor/grain cart in the field and she was sure Dad was on the tractor.  I think he was the combine driver, the tractor driver and the semi driver that night.  So we called and told him we were heading over.  We traded the car for the Polaris Ranger and drove out to the field.  Joe was across the field so we drove around the corn field to see what we could find.
Molly jumped out to pick up cobs of corn that the combine missed.  We might take them into the Co-op and see what we can get for them!  Lol

Ellie liked the Polaris but always seems a little concerned about it too!  Then she asked if she could eat the corn!  Ummm, No!
Joe unloaded the soybean and we jumped in with him for another trip around the field.
Ellie watching the combine come in.  Right before she fussed about the dust in her eyes.  The dust did seem extremely bad that night!

The girls in the combine with Joe!  We brought him a cookie and a bottled water! What a good super to the field huh?  Lol  This new combine seems harder to get into then the last.  Might be the ladder, but I was glad that Uncle Doug was there when we got done riding because I could drop the girls down to him on the ground!  Doug took over keeping Joe company because the girls were tired and dirty from our little adventures in the corn/bean fields!

Molly sat on the floor of the combine.  I tried to get a good picture of the header out the window but the crazy dust, the dirty window and the glare of the sunset  made for a bad picture!

I couldn't move this picture around like usual, but this was another one when waiting on the Joe.  It was such a nice night!  It is funny how Molly always says she doesn't want to ride the combine, but then loves it and Ellie always says she wants to go, but then seems scared to death of it all!  Weird!  Molly really just wanted to go ride the semi, but the Co-op was closed when Joe got done cutting so he took the girls Saturday morning with Doug to unload the semi in town.  Molly knows the semi goes to the Co-op which hands out suckers to the kids!  She is a SMART cookie!
