Here it comes!
The oil rig is coming! They have been moving dirt (or should I say sand) the last few days. They are clearing out plum thickets and leveling out the ground. They haven't dug the pit yet, but sure that will happen this week. The first week of May, the rig should move in.
So far the dirt work has been entertaining to watch out our back door. The girls check in on it and Ellie yells "Papa" when she sees the Cat out there moving. No, Tom isn't the one clearing the dirt, but for some reason she thinks it is. lol We do wave at him across the pasture when we see the John Deere tractor out farming, maybe that is what she is thinking.
More oil rig pictures to come...
From our back deck. Right in the middle of that cirle of fresh dirt is where the rig is going. They put in a road from the north leading across the pasture. The entrance has a cattle guard, so they don't have to open and close gates. But for some reason, it is an open invitation to the town to drive out there. We have had a few pickups "touring" the site in the evenings. Sure we will have more. I just don't get it, there isn't much to see and someone is going to get stuck out in the sand. Won't be the first time nosey neighbors have gotten stuck in our sand. lol
