We Have Trees!
This probably seems silly to some that we are so excited about trees, but we didn't have a single tree in our yard before yesterday! A friend from college works with his parents landscaping/nursery business in Hutch, so he came down with a team and planted 4 big trees for us! Molly looked out this morning and said they are already growing. She also wanted to know when "Big John" was going to take them back. I hope for that price, they stay forever! Maybe when the girls are graduating from high school we will have a little shade up on our windy hill! :-)
This is an autumn blaze maple on the south side. Hope to get some shade on the back deck one of these days!
Out front is another autumn blaze maple and past that is a crabapple of some sort.
On the north side on the top of the hill is this chinkapin oak. John helped us pick out the trees, I really don't know much about them. One of the maples leaves are already turning red! I love watching the leaves change in the fall, now we have our own trees to watch. It is amazing what a difference a few trees make!
